The King of Arcades

Richie Knucklez Arcade, one of the biggest arcade phenomena in the world, is the focus of this new documentary.

The King of Arcades is directed by award-winning filmmaker Sean Tiedeman and produced by Krystle-Dawn Willing. Launched as a Kickstarter project it raised more than its $40,000 initial funding goal with 16 days left in the campaign!

Tiederman aims to cover the industry’s growth, from the “The Father of Video Games” Ralph Baer’s invention of the home console to the Art of Video Games exhibit sponsored by the Smithsonian Museum.

The documentary has been filming since June of last year at the headquarters of Richie Knucklez Arcade in Flemington, New Jersey.

The production team has interviewed well-known professional players, record holders and game industry personnel “to document the impact of gaming past, present, and future.”

  1. This will be really interesting. I’m a massive fan of classic arcades and a huge fan of King Of Kong, Chasing Ghosts etc. I have also been a fan of Richie Knuckles since the first Kong-off a couple of years ago.

This, along with Bedrooms to Billions will keep me entertained for a good while.

I haven’t seen king of kong. It’s supposed to be excellent. Will have to check it out

The King of Kong is excellent and highly recommend it.

  4. Just bear in mind the director was very creative with the actual events and painted Billy Mitchel, Walter Day and Twin Galaxies out to be absolute rogues, which really isn’t the case.
