Street Fighter & Mega Man Collaboration Coming Soon (and it’s free!!!!)

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of these two iconic brands, Capcom have announced they are releasing an 8-bit style crossover that will feature everyone’s favourite blue man and a slew of characters from Street Fighter, all re-imagined as characters in the Mega Man Universe.

The game was designed by Mega Man fan, Seow Zong Hui, who managed to impress Capcom enough into releasing this as an official title. And best of all, it’s completely free.

The game will pit megaman against bosses created from the Street Fighter universe and will feature a brand new 8-bit soundtrack that combines SF and MM tunes into great mashups.

“Our fans have been so supportive of the 25th Anniversary efforts on Street Fighter, that we wanted to provide one last surprise and token of our appreciation,” said Christian Svensson, SVP of Consumer Software at Capcom USA. “This game symbolizes the passion and dedication of our fans and with the 25th Anniversary of Mega Man coming up, we felt it was our duty to bring this wonderful experience to everyone who has shared the last 25 years with us and both of these celebrated franchises.”

The full download will be released on the 17th of December and will be available exclusively from Capcom unity on the PC.

    No problem.

I’ve never really been much of a fan of megaman, but this crossover definitely intrigues me. Roll on Monday 😀

Like Darren I never cared much for Megaman, but I’m on board for this one all the way.

Looks very well done. I wonder if this includes a mac version?

  5. TEOL says:

Sounds like it would be a decent crossover but Street Fighter on the 8-Bit was always crap though so not expecting much from the Street Fighter half.
