Spiderman and Captain America – One Great … One F*****d up

spidercap america

Well the superhero went heat to head this year with Sega in one corner supporting Spiderman and Data East in the other with Captain America. Now as the title says one of these games was a great success and the other, in my opinion was a total screw up. There was no need for one of them to be this bad so here is my honest thoughts on two arcade games and of which one of them made a home conversion ….much to my disappointment

We gotta play some MAMEHub on Spiderman sometime.

With port forwarding no longer needed to join in an already set game by someone we really should get a session in on that sometime.

I remember play the spiderman in the arcades back in the day and being blown away with the variety of style and graphics.
Its one of the games I’ve finished this year:)

As for captain America game, it really is poor, I first played it on the 16bit consoles and I hated it as the graphics are really 8bit standard.
The game does feels better on the gamegear though, but as a arcade game it’s poor!

Ha, the funny thing was that I loved The Avengers in the arcades at the time. Loved the camp over the top speech and digitized backgrounds. Looking back now though and It’s really poor when you compare it to 90% of other scrolling brawlers. And yeah always really liked the Sega Spiderman arcade.
