A group of indie developers have started work on a modern remake of the isometric heavy metal racer from the 90s; Rock ‘N Roll Racing.
Currently sourcing funds via the IndieGoGo platform, this unofficial remake is looking great and showing faithfulness to the original version. Originally released on the Super Nintendo and Sega Mega Drive, Rock ‘N Roll Racing gained a cult classic status. It also spawned some not so successful sequels, most notably on the Sony PlayStation – Rock & Roll Racing 2: Red Asphalt.
The team behind this remake have stuck to the iconic isometric perspective but also introduced a more modern third person viewpoint to capture the on-screen action.
The trailer above looks amazing but rumours are circling that this ‘unofficial’ version may run into copyright problems given its unauthorised use of the game’s name.
