  1. Dean Swain says:

Andy, you got to play Mercenary!!! How have you never played this game on the Speccy? Anyway mate, well done on the interview!

  2. Andy says:

I was probably playing Dizzy non stop lol

I will give it a go on my commute to work:-)

  3. darren says:

I didn’t even know this was being made, but I cannot wait to watch it.

I can’t believe the BBC didn’t commission this when they made Micro-Men. As Anthony said, they seem to commission much more obscure ‘niche’ programming than this and it would have been the perfect compliment.

I put a forum post up about six months ago about this project when they were looking for donations – I don’t think I made it obvious enough thugh as it seems a lot of people missed it – my bad, we probably should have run a front page story on it (that will teach me!). Fortunately they raised the money anyway and I think this will be a fantastic documentary!

I haven’t listened to the podcast yet but really looking forward to it.

  5. retrodarren says:

Great interview – shame on you for not knowing about Mercenary !!!!

  6. stotz31 says:

I had Mercenary on my Amiga 500. Got it in the Ten Star pack with the machine. Excellent game!

  7. retrodarren says:

same with me – the 10star pack – thats where i really got into mercenary .
did you have the one with the awful ‘insanity fight’ in it?

  8. pottyboy says:

Superb interview Andy! Can’t wait for the movie 🙂

  9. ZXSpecstar says:

Just listened through this one and cant wait for the film…man I can not believe that even today they consider computer games a niche market when they make more money that movies do, but just like movies not all million selling games are good.

  10. trantor says:

Sounds like a great concept for a film, and they teased nicely at the downfall in the 90s. Consider my appetite whet. 🙂

  11. Primal Scientist says:
