    Nice podcast guys 🙂

I never owned a Game Boy, I remember a friend from primary school brought in a Game boy for the last day of term, the only game I remember from then was a Tom and Jerry game.

As for Pang, I used to play the demo version on the Spectrum when I was a kid, oh and after a bit of research, Pang did come out on the Amstrad but on a GX4000.

There’s so many amazing games for the gameboy, It’s one of those systems where you can Skways discover a new classic you never played back In the day

      Glad you liked the show:)

  2. Dean Swain says:

Nice show guys, very tempted to dig out my original Gameboy now 🙂

  3. Andy says:

    Cheer dean

Like Glenn said it was just amazing having a portable handheld and being to be able to play a huge ammount of games.
One of my fave systems ever

  4. TEOL says:

I like Batman but I like Robocop as well equally as much as each other so it’s a draw on the music front.

However a title theme is more important over the level themes so by default Robocop wins this one based on that since it’s a draw peice wise.

  5. TEOL says:

I love to call this system the Gameboy Green.

  6. Good show. A lot of people would say that Tetris is the sole reason the Gameboy dominated the handheld market. It sold sooooo many systems that basically everyone had a GB before the competitors got a chance.

But what a great game; so addictive. I spent countless hours playing Game A and I remember the number lines rather than the score. My highest ever was something like 210 which I thought was shit hot at the time. It got so fast that once you passed 200 there was more luck in it than skill..! There’s a Youtube vid showing 9999 lines but to be honest I doubt it’s humanly possible to go beyond about 250.

    • Andy says:

I think the reason it did well was the hue liberery of games and also the fact it consume as much batteries like the lynx or the game gear

The game gear had coloums and the lynx had klax. Which good games but no where near as good as tetris, but yeah I guess tetris must have have helped the gameboy dominate the handheld market

  7. buzzbop says:

Glad Pokemon was in your top 5, would be my number 1. Loved this episode a lot, love all the out takes at the end, keep doing them 🙂 great ep

    • Andy says:

i was wondering if anyone actually listened to the outtakes 🙂

Yeah i had to include Pokemon as it really was a great game and also add a new
      Life to the gameboy

Awesome podcast guys, I don’t mean to rain on the Gameboy parade but I didn’t like it. In the late 80s, my color TV went out on me and so I had to resort to a black and white TV to play the NES on until I could get a new TV or should I say until my parents could get a new color TV. So the Gameboy was the last thing on the planet I wanted to play in the 80s. My parents bought me a color TV 25″ in 89 and it felt good to play the NES in color again. The next year I got a Genesis and never looked back. I tried to give a Gameboy a chance but it still brings back horrible memories of that temporary black and white TV I had to resort to for like 2 years prior to 89.

  9. Andy says:

I think the gameboy is more nostalgia for me, i used to love it loads as it was affordable and had a huge selection of games.

Fast forward to the present I don’t actually play it as much as I should even on the emulator on my psp?
Has it aged badly? Or have I to many other classic systems to play …not sure?

Black N white tvs wow I remember them

  10. buzzbop says:

I didn’t have a gameboy until my parents got me a gameboy pocket with super mario and the six golden coins 🙂 then I had gameboy colour, Pokemon was my number 1, kept me on the gameboy for hours and hours and prob the only game I used the link cables for. Got 2 boxed gameboy colours, a boxed gameboy pocket and an original gameboy in my collection now aswell as all the Pokemon games, one gameboy version you didn’t mention was the rare gameboy pocket light, the only gameboy with a backlight, think it was only released in Japan but maybe America too but is stupidly hard to get hold of now.
