Just finished listening at work and have to say great show guys really enjoyed this def passed a hour of my time with retro goodness

I feel even though it was a top 5 codemasters games there were so many good ones its so hard to decide

And as i said in the forum i want to know if Jack Trimel did indeed have the final prizes that was for the Swordquest games

but indeed keep the show going guys and as soon as i get my show on itunes you will get a 5* review from me lol

    • Andy says:

yeah it was Tough to do my top 5 codemasters games, if I were to do it again i would probally pick 5 other games cause the cosies made some great stuff.

Still waiting for you guys to be on iTunes ….got my review pre written

Another excellent podcast dudes! Was really chuffed to bits that Glenn picked me as the winner! 😀

But yeah some good choices for the Codemasters top fives. Mine would be:

    5. Slightly Magic
    4. Little Puff In Dragonland
    3. Treasure Island Dizzy
    2. Fantasy World Dizzy
    1. Micro Machines ’96

Once again, keep it up guys!

    • TEOL says:

You lucky guy. You won the Dizzy picture. Now you won the Blaze as well. 😀

      • Andy says:

Yeah he’s won 2 prizes so far:)

But just to let you know we got a great prize for Ep 20…..a Amiga!

        • pottyboy says:

I won’t enter when that time comes, seeing as I’ve already got an Amiga 🙂 Plus it would be great to see others win a prize for a change! It’s a cool prize anyway! 😀

If you need any help regarding this prize Andy, such as which model to go for (if it hasn’t already been chosen) and what should be bundled with it (games, accessories etc), let me know! I’d be more than happy to help 🙂

      • pottyboy says:

Yeah! I honestly cannot believe my luck! 😀

  3. Andy says:

Congrats on winning the blaze hand held, well done.

Great choice on your top 5, very similar games apart from micro machines

    • pottyboy says:

Micro Machines ’96 is an awesome game mate! It’s basically Micro Machines 2 but with all new tracks and lots more gameplay modes. There’s even a course designer included! I spent hours making obstacle courses for my little cars to run around in 🙂

The worst Codemasters game I’ve ever played was Sensible Soccer 2006 on the PS2, although they only published that one (although it still counts as the later Dizzy games were developed by Big Red Software). That game was just dire beyond belief! So many bugs! Can’t believe Codemasters released this game in such an unfinished state! They took a really good Amiga football game… and destroyed it!

It’s the only game I’ve ever taken back because it was bad (normally I only ever take games back when they’re faulty). Exchanged it for Puyo Pop fever on the PSP which is a brilliant puzzler.

  4. Thanks for the shout out Andy, I was being Ironic about Chou Aniki – it’s a notoriously bizarre game that many gamers find amusing but certainly not worthy of any sane person’s top 5…!

  5. Andy says:

I’m sure there more games in the series, as I’m sure there more game thAt featured the body builders

I’m gonna have to play this game as it looks bizarre.

    Thanks for listening

  6. TEOL says:

Sorry Andy but your undefeated streak has come to an end today ATV Simulator 48k sounded like a mouse so the winner is Glenn this week.

  7. Adam says:

    Great podcast there. 🙂

Funnily enough, I too had always counted on either Codemasters or Ocean to bring you something good gaming wise.

I think one of the most frustrating Codemasters games I played is Blade Warrior, It’s a small game but a bloody nightmare to beat.

  8. Andy says:

Never heard of that game, might load it up and give it a go

I’m gonna start a new thread on the forum called hidden gems where we discuss games that we probally never heard of.

  9. Glenn says:

good editing Andy i enjoyed doing podcast with you i enjoyed our top 5 codemaster games also i think i won the music challenge this week lol keep up good work

  10. malc1976 says:

Great show i liked the intro lol its easy to send txt msg by mistake.
I only hade two Codemasters games myself BMX Simulator and ATV Simulator for some reason they seem to sell more Mastertronic games where i come from.
I had lots of theam but to be fair most of there games arnt great.

  11. scopie says:

The funny thing is that I remember C+VG magazine hating just about every Code Master game that arrived. It seemed like a running joke of who could give them the worst review, even the Dizzy games!!
