Special guest. Awesome, keep them coming on both poddys and our family of 2 podcasts will conquer the world of retro podcasting as we know it.

I loved that Dizzy 3D game. Could have used some left and right cameras for that annoying level 3 though. I’ve never been able to find that key as it’s just too hard without the side views. lol.

    • Glenn says:

Hi TEOL when i make the next dizzy game I going to try put in left and right camera the key is near the end of the level on the middle platform on level 3

An atmospheric game music challenge is always harder to call normally compared to a normal gaming music challenge but this one is easy to call because the other one I consider to be just noise whilst this one was music.

My winner goes to Andy again for his Donkey Kong Country.

Another great podcast that was a joy to listen too. This also happened to be the first time I listened to it via the site (normally I download from iTunes and listen on my iPhone) 🙂

Have to agree that the SNES is a great console! My brother got a second hand one off a mate back in around 93 or 94, and we literally had hours of fun with it! Some great games released for the system, with my all time favourite being the fantastic Yoshi’s Island! Other favourites include the Donkey Kong Country games, StarWing, SimCity, Smash TV and of course the other Mario games.

The Mickey Mouse game that Glenn was on about was Mickey Mania (although on the PS1 it was renamed Mickey’s Wild Adventure for some reason). My brother had it for the SNES and it was an OK game. Gorgeous graphics, but a bit too easy. Castle Of Illusion was a good game, but I actually preferred World Of Illusion. Don’t know why, just seemed to enjoy it more.

Both music tracks are good, but once again I go with Andy’s choice. Such a great piece of music from a game that not only looked and sounded amazing but also played brilliantly.

Once again guys, another superb podcast, and I cannot wait for the next one 😀

    • Andy says:

      Glad you liked it matey:D

I actually need to play yoshi’s island as I never really played it that much.

World of illusion is a great game and it’s even better playing with a friend.

      More retro fun on Friday:)

Great show as always 🙂 i like both tunes so its hard to choose.
Heres a tune i would pick if for music from a snes game Battletoads in Battlemaniacs OST Last Battle/Bonus Stage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyOOZ0T7qOk
Castle Of Illusion is a great game, have you ever played fantasia on the Megadrive? now theres a bad Mickey Mouse game.
Street Fighter 2 sold the Snes to me back in the day and the reason i sold my Megadrive to buy one and i had the import like Andy it cost me £64 the UK version came out almost a year later and at the time i was about 15 years old and i couldnt wait.
Im surprised Contra III: The Alien Wars wasnt in the list as its a great game.

    • Andy says:

Great music choice,I will post that on episode 13 1/2

Oh yeah I’ve played fantasia and it really is a WTF game….it’s really poor, does have nice graphics….but no gameplay!

I was going to include contra when we were going to our top 10 snes but I decided to only do a top 5.

The gba version is a mush mash butchered version of the snes ,it features levels from the Megadrive version

I challenge thee to find a great track on a game and system you never played much at all on for next weeks music challenge.

MSX, AMIGA, Sam Coupie, anything goes as long as you haven’t played much of the system it’s allowed.

    Does thee except thy challenge?

  7. Andy says:

    Challenge
    Accepted 🙂

I really loved the Super Star wars games with my fav one probably Empire strikes back. My first glance at a SNES was actually in Australia during a holiday in ’92. The machine was due to be launched and I kept noticing these arcade cabs around town running SMW & F-Zero, I think you had to pay to have a go.

  9. Andy says:

I loved super star wars, tried playing That game recently and man it’s tough!

  10. Glenn says:
