iCade goes all 8-bitty!

It wasn’t that long ago that Apple were trying to convince¬†us that the future was all about touch control, then we tried playing some arcade style games on the iphone & ipad and we all quickly realized that maybe touch screen gaming isn’t that great choice after all. So last year ThinkGeek released the iCade for the ipad and us retro heads could finally get some control back in our games.

However, with the original bulky iCade coming in at around ¬£75 it’s a bit pricey so that’s why were rather pleased to see that ThinkGeek has announced the 8-bitty.

It's not an harmonica, honest!

Ok, so it's the same size as the system

Styled like an old style NES controller the 8-Bitty uses the same Bluetooth technolgy found in the original iCade but of course is a lot less bulky and will retail for a slightly less mad price of $25 (no UK price as yet) when released later on in the year.

Looks naff to me. If I’m playing arcade games on the go the minimum I want to use is a thumbstick not a D-Pad and what I would really like is a proper portable joystick over either and 6 buttons over 4 for stuff like Street Fighter.
