    great video mate:D

you are probably right that the megadrive faster because of the processor, the Snes looked nice but it didnt have all the slugs and i bet it was missing loads of other things,

great game that i need to play again

Nice video. Love the synthesised voice!

To be fair I didn’t like both versions anywhere near as much as the Amiga original. Yes the Megadrive version did play the best, and I didn’t mind the fewer colours (that’s expected with Amiga to MD conversions) but the sound was just dreadful! Another World just doesn’t work without decent sound and sadly this is the worst sound I’ve heard on the MD. There are other games on the MD with way better sound than this. I agree that the SNES version is a little slow, but I have managed to complete that version and it’s not by any means unplayable. Also, the SNES version was in fact censored by Nintendo. The slime in the cave mouth death sequence is green instead of pink/red, and there are no visible bum cracks during the final level.

Another World was a great game on the Amiga. I should get round to doing a T.E.A.R.S. vid of it.

Yeah I agree, both are not as good as the Amiga. The old Mac version is also very good and I think runs at a better resolution. I forgot to mention that the Anniversary edition on the ipad is actually really good and has the touched up graphics or with a swipe of the finger you can change to the original. Controls surprisingly very well to for a touch screen.

P.S Thanks Andy for putting this up. Cheers.

I’ve never seen anything other than the Amiga version. I can see why now, the sound is shocking. Lacks the atmosphere forks the Amiga version which just oozes class but sinister atmospherics.

Fanboy I maybe 😉 but these 2 versions are slim shadows of the Amga version simply because of the sound.

Happens to be one of few games I’ve ever completed.

If the Megadrive & SNES had 60hz versions I think the AMIGA original maybe 60hz compatible without crop off so would have to give this a 60hz play on an ADF, DMS or IPF depending on if it needs cracking to see how good the superior AMIGA version plays.

  7. TEOL says:

On the AMIGA the game is balls of steel hard.

The Megadrive version looks much better than the SNES version. I never played the Amiga version so I might have to play it tonight. The megadrive version is far greater in every way than the SNES version in my opinion. I don’t mind the sound on the Megadrive version either.

Hi scopie I liked your vid I remember another world I completed it on the super Nintendo when i was about 10 year old and the graphics looked amazing for the time but I agree the mega drive was faster and more responsive but the super Nintendo had the nice sounds thanks for the shout out about the site.
